Introduction
August 16, 2009
I am going to write to you. I´ll write to you about; discussions I had, books I read, travels I have taken, concerts I went to, songs I heard and songs I´ve been singing, struggles I was a part of or heard of, education and my thoughts and experiences. I am going to write to you in English, Spanish and sometimes in Swedish.
Why?
I do it to express myself but also to practice writing. You will notice that I´m not always accurate with my spelling and grammar. I would love if you had comments on what I write, both on form and content. But that’s not all, writing consolidates thoughts and observations that otherwise might just disappear or stay far down in your mind. When you write them down you have saved them for yourself and for others. So basically, I write to make my thoughts understandable.
The name
La caja de sorpresas is Spanish and means the box of surprises. It derives from a late session at a beach in Spain. I was talking with some new found Spanish friends and we were all quite tired. I probably said something unexpected because suddenly one of them said “ Eres una caja de sorpresa” “You are a box of suprises”. Hopefully this blog will be a box of surprises.
